Description EN

Ebright Azimuth is the highest monumented point in the State of Delaware. It is located only about 300 feet from the Pennsylvania border, along Ebright Road. Having an official elevation of 448 feet above sea level, it is the 2nd lowest of the 50 State highpoints, a little over 100 feet higher than Florida's Britton Hill.

A visit to Ebright Azimuth is officially recognized by The Highpoint Society for a State Highpoint visit. In 1985, the National Geodetic Survey determined the elevation of Ebright Azimuth to be 447.859 feet. It also determined a point on private property in a nearby modular home park to be 450.949 feet. This is why Ebright Azimuth is the highest monumented point, i.e. it has a benchmark.

We could find nothing suitable for a log password in the vicinity. To log this virtual cache, have your picture taken in front of the sign above, or a picture of your GPSr with it if you are camera shy. Should you cache with a smartphone and are camera shy on top of that, we will probably accept just a photo of the sign; it's not like there is a problem with bogus virtual cache loggers on the OpenCaching North America website.

There is no parking on Ebright Road! Parking is available on several side streets off of it, and our party parked about 500 feet away. Please don't disturb the neighbors, although I'm sure they're used to moderate traffic from visitors. If you click the nearest caches on Geocaching.com link on this cache page, you will find there is a micro cache at the same posted coordinates, although it was missing at the time of our visit in April 2014. Enjoy your visit!
