Description EN

Globe Park is a City of Hamilton park that has fallen into disuse and disrepair. The park is still accessible and the grass is still kept short. Two of the three baseball diamonds look like they could still be used, but the bleachers don't look too stable. The tennis court, on the other hand, looks like a scene out of Chernobyl.

We met a Globe Park regular who told us that the gate leading into the park hasn't been open in about 6 years. You can walk in, but can't drive. A better way to access this cache is to follow the Red Hill Valley Recreation Trail to the bridge over the QEW, then turn left before the bridge and follow the trail leading into the park.

Why is is called Globe Park? It's named after the large, very visible gas storage tank that has been painted like an earth globe. It is highly visible to those passing through the city on the QEW highway. Like the park, the Globe looks like it's seen better days.

The cache is a micro plastic tube ziptied to a fence. Look for the small gazebo, and follow the fence to find the cache. A spoiler pic is attached to this listing.

I used the "Dangerous" attribute just because the park is in disuse and there are some holes to twist ankles in and some very un-supportive looking bleachers and picnic tables around.
