The Oshkosh Brewing Company started in 1894. The brewery had a good run until it closed it's doors on October, 18 1971. One of it’s most popular brews was Chief Oshkosh beer. After it closed, the brands were sold to The Peoples Brewing Company, also formerly located in Oshkosh. On November 8, 1972 Peoples Brewing Company stopped making beer and the old brands were auctioned off.
