Description EN
Gulpa Gorge Campground is located on Highway 70B, approximately 0.5 miles north of Highway 70 East. It is located on the east side of the park.  The fee is $5.00 for Golden Age and Golden Access passport holders.  These passports may be obtained by those eligible at the Hot Springs National Park Visitor Center in the former Fordyce Bathhouse in downtown Hot Springs.
The name Gulpha Creek is a corruption of the French name for the stream. Explorer William Dunbar reports the name "Fourche á Calfat" in the journal of his visit in 1804. Calfat eventually became Gulpha.
Several hiking trails that connect with others in the park begin at Gulpha Gorge. Interpretive programs are presented at the campground amphitheater during the summer months; times and topics are posted on the bulletin boards.

As a kid, I spent many hours picnicking at this campground.
