Bacall, the ringleader of the T.W. Unreal bullying incident, and Gadget CHC don't have accounts, and surely won't log this, so I might as well put it to bed. Again, thank you to all 10 attendees, I can't thank you enough for showing up. Who knows, I may just move my meant to be annual, but didn't happen last year, Christmas event here.

A most excellent event!  After a great day of caching on the waterfront, this event was a great end to the day.  BBQ was great, beer was great and hanging out with everyone was great (even Gof...).   I had a great time Yuck.  Thanks for planning this event.

A most excellent day of BIT caching followed up with pretty darn good pork sliders and some beers to quench my thirst. I have never been much of an event guy but this one is the best one so far. Really enjoyed all the bit caches its a great way to bring some one to an interesting place that may not be suitable for a physical hide. As always its nice to see some caching friends again Great job setting the event up Yukster Its a perfect place for a small get together. Good food good friends good beer good stories and Hot Coors Light girls. I lost to Havoc by 1 goal and put my bottel opener key chain into the Moving cache that I was forced to take home! Got a spot in mind for it and NO its not out in cow country by me:-)Thanks,,SF7

Since B.S. Dru can't make it, I will make a special appearance on her behalf. I mean Mr.Yuck is going to have a backpack full of stuff, he can just throw me in there. Hi Bacall!!!

This event turned out pretty darn good! We had 10 attendees. I was hoping for 15 or more, but this was a fine little gathering. I want to personally think each and every person that attended. Most notably those that came a sizeable distance, Sabrefan7 and Borst. Great to see you guys. Gadget too, who comes from a distance, although she hitched a ride in MickEMT's awesome new Dodge whatever it's called SUV, which myself, Gof, and Rayman got a personal tour of. I'm really trying to keep the Opencaching name out there, and pestered about 15 people via email before the event. And of course I have to thank Gof, for placing the amazing number of 26 Bit caches in WNY, and publishing them the day before the event. He did not plan to do this, they were placed over a period of several weeks. I just happened to be talking to him via email (most likely pestering him to attend the event), and we coordinated the timely publishing. Thanks again to him.

So I got a little tipsier than I wanted to, but sitll not fall down drunk. Nothing too crazy, as I like to say. That is because I was forced to stop at 2 different bars for a beer on the way there. Here's my story, and I'm sticking to it. I forced Mrs. Yuck to drop me off at the UB Subway station. I only bought a one-way ticket, knowing I could probably force fellow Tonawandan Rayman to give me a ride home, even though I gave him no advance notice.

As many attendees might know, I've been a weekend only paperboy for 5 years with my kids. We currently have a triple sized route, that's a lot of papers. We go out for about 3 hours on Saturday, and I drink lots of water and Powerade! So I'm on the 15 minute subway ride, and my back teeth are floating. I need to go bad. In case you never noticed, there are no restrooms at the subway stations!! But I got off at Main and Allen, and I know there are several bars and restaurants on Allen. So I go to the first one. Turns out it's a well-known Gay bar in the Buffalo community, Cathode Ray!! If you don't believe me, here is my Foursquare check-in, and I received 4 extra points for "my first Gay Bar". Foursquare Check-in So they look at me funny of course, and the bartender seems quite annoyed I'm looking for the bathroom. I tell him, no problem, I'll buy a drink! So I sat there for about 10 minutes having a bottle of bud. There are 5 or 6 TV's, but check this out; instead of having sports on, all TV's were tuned to the Food Network. How funny is that?

So next stop on my tour is The Church of Scientology 2 blocks down. Why? There is a Terracaching Locationless cache, "She blinded me with Scien-tology". Take your pic in front of a church of Scientology, funny stuff. Been wanting to do that for years, and never knew where the Buffalo Freak house, oops I mean church, was. But I noticed it on the map a few days out, and made stopping by a priority. I now have a funny inclination towards jumping on Oprah's couch.

So then I look for 3 Gof Bit Caches. The first one, St. Louis Roman Catholic Church, seems to be missing! I find the Munzee, also by Gof, in about a minute, but no Bit Cache. I then go to 2 other Gof Bit Caches, The Cyclorama, and Evil Spirts, and find them easily. So I'm close, and knowing his hiding style now, I go back to the Church. Still nothing. Of course it was established at the event it was indeed missing.

Well, I had the GPS on, and it was only 800 feet down Franklin to Fat Bob's from the Evil Spirts Bit. I had figured it was much further than that, just from looking at the maps and planning my excursion. But I have another stop to make first, I had submitted a Bit Cache of my own the day before, and it was already approved. All I had to do was physically drop it, and activate it. This is the Legion Post No. 665/Hamlin House Restaurant Bit cache, which is only 300 feet from the front door of Fat Bob's. So I place it, and of course I have to go into the Legion to have another beer. I mean who could resist that? So I drank that, and got to Fat Bob's at 6:40 in plenty of time to be the first one there, and make final plans with the bar tender.

Oh, and during the event, a girl in 5 inch spiked heels and a Coors Lite T-Shirt forced me to play air hockey on an Iphone against Rayman. I lost, but still got a landyard bottle opener, as opposed to a nice T-Shirt for the winner. What Rayman didn't know is I have air hockey on my phone, and play it occasionally. Not often enough, apparently.

Hey nice job, pal. Haven't been to Fat Bob's in many years so I was looking forward to coming back to have some BBQ and mac & cheese. For whatever reason though, I didn't have any BBQ, but the mac was still very good. I guess I'll stick to my favorite food truck for my BBQ fix.

Great seeing everyone and getting a chance to talk to all in a small setting like this. The scenery wasn't too bad either, if you know what I mean. Wink

Looks like I only posted a note the first time. OK, the cache page is done, although only 3 days out. Hope everyone see's all the changes. Added the bar menu (which is not shown on their website), and the coordinates for a municipal parking lot. I actually will be arriving on the subway, so not applicable to me.

Yep,

I should be there.

The host has informed me of this event going on. I had no idea. I haven't logged onto this site in over a year. LOL. I will likely attend as long as work doesn't schedule me for a p.m. shift. I've always wanted to go to Fat Bob's and this may be the perfect excuse to do so. Cache on everybody..

H to the Bizzle!

I should be there, but not until 8:00 or so.  I have an event to attend with my daughter's school and will try to get there afterwards since Fat Bob's is walking distance from home,

I am hoping to make this event. But even if I don't I'll send a few gifts.

I will try and make it out, not sure what time I will be back from my conference in Rochester.

Oh I'm 96% sure I'll be there. Haven't been to the awesome Fat Bob's in many years. In my opinion, I think it's better than Dinosaur BBQ. But then again I haven't been here in forever so their BBQ may have changed. Looking forward to it. Hopefully I should get my Porky badge here too. Wink

Finally a log after being listed a week. That's actually normal for events listed a while out. Yes, the host will be there. I was thinking I'd have the mysterious non-Geocaching Mrs. Yuck/and or my daughter drop me off at the UB subway station, and pick me up there after the event, as happy hour beer prices generally cause me to indulge a bit. So my vehicle, which is a logable Opencaching cache, probably won't be there. Ok, I have to go, I have to improve this web page as threatened.

2273 2012-04-07 01:16 Sabrefan7 (user activity89) - Participera

Well its getting some talk! I will be there sans Mrs.SF7. I tried but she likes caching and related topics as much as Mrs Yuk does
