Cache was archived.

6931 2016-03-06 00:22 TermiteHunter (user activity242) - Note

Sorry to say that another of my first batch of caches from my entry into OCNA had to be archived. The construction removed and replaced the original host for the cache which means significant work to replace it and even then it would no longer be able to hide within the host as it once did so this one has to go.

Thanks to all and the 3 Recommendations it held

This was listed as a bonus cache in something else I found today. I drove and walked on over to take a look anyway. The gate was closed so I didn't actually put hands or name on the log, but was within arms length almost, I think. Let me know if I misunderstand the intent of "bonus."

Thanks, TermiteHunter, for setting this up!

+/- 55 @ November 3, 2015 15:15.

This is a great hide! Since I needed one for the GCGC Fool Relay this week, I decided to stop by and check this one out. Luckily, the construction gate was open and GZ was accessible. I had a hard time getting my hands on the cache, but I found a tool in my geobag that made the job a lot easier. Thanks for a fun hide....highly recommended!

DudleyGrunt and I came down to North Carolina to seek some OCNA caches. They are many, many OCNA caches in the Charlotte area and we wanted to seek them during the current contest going on the OCNA site.

This was an excellent cache. We actually found it in less than 2 minutes. I'm giving it a recommendation. Thanks for placing this cache. TFTC

This was a grest hide. Have to say, though, that these 2 MD cachers (me and sfcchaz) found this in about 90 seconds after I had a strong feeling how it may have been hidden.

Thanks and Happy Trails!

OK, I wasn't going to log caches that were listed on both sites, but now that I can load Open Caches into GSAK and just searches on what I have remaining make it confusing to leaves these as not found when they are indeed already found.

This cache was awesome! It took three pairs of eyes looking all over the place (including right over it). Note my eyes were never on that "part". lol

Took a phone a friend to find it and they only gave us the same hint the CO gave them. But it was a pretty big hint that helped us lock in on it quickly. Since we were all over the place I would recommend as the first hint just be the main object to focus attention on. Anyhow, this is definitely deserving as the finale for the Open Grid series. Thanks TH, it was a fun one!

I can finally mark this one off after the 3rd trip out. This series is fantastic and this is a great urban cache. It took a small hint (albeit obscure) from the CO and a hint from a PAF and offering a hint to N3N before the find was made. I had put off avenging some other DNFs on this series but plan to avenge them shortly. TFTC!

Nicely done, TH. A fitting end to the GRID series.

This took a bit of searching by me. I checked out LOTS of things, even bug coccoons (hey - with TermiteHunter, you never know)!

PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT... don't disassemble the phone box... the cache ain't there - I checked. I didn't think it would be there, but after failing other places, I figured I would try. It was either the real thing, or a heck of a good fake ((hey - with TermiteHunter, you never know) - it was real.

Fortunately, nobody thought anything about my work at GZ, as I was outfitted in the glow orange safety vest/invisibility cloak.

Thanks for the series, TermiteHunter. I enjoyed it.

I like the password requirement. Pretty cool. I actually messed it up, trying two other combinations of the letters until - DUH - that's the one. Fitting.

Wow oh wow. This is easily one of if not the most impressive cache container I have ever found!

I just can't believe how well this blends right in with the surroundings. Shocked that I was able to find this as easily as I did.

Thanks for the cache and I def enjoyed all in this series.

I was dissapointed at first, since I didn't know that all 4 needed to be found to get the password. I discovered the link to this site in one of the sites, came home to open the account and log it, then read the description. Besides by initial let down, through my own ignorance, the cache was fine.

After the logged DNF I visited the cache site three times to attempt again a find. With a hint fromt the CO I finally was able to spot the cache. TermiteHunter is noted for his creative and difficult caches. This one is right up there with the best of them. The password to log this find is quite appropriate.

I cannot imagine where the cache container might be hidden. I know i touched every possible place, likely and unlikely, where something might be hidden. apparently, I did not. Nevertheless, it is my honor to log the first DNF for this cache, and probably for any cache in North Carolina. I certainly enjoyed the runup to the cache having found the four prerequsites.

Wow!! A FTF on my first open cache, and this one was very nicely done - found it under the watchful eyes of the owner - whew! All the hides were awesome and this one makes me proud to be a cacher in Charlotte. Thanks TH for all the fun I've had today! I just realized that I logged the first find on an opencache in North Carolina - this is very cool and I'm honored; and a TermiteHunter cache to boot!!
