Doing some research and realized that this cache was not logged on this site. I wanted to log it here as well as on my GSAK database. I don't like blanks in the find column. I am sooo excited by this cache! I did find it the wrong way, but I pulled off the highway in a safe place. Then I found a trail that went gently down to the RR bed. I took out a few webs on the way down though. I immediately found the water cache. Took me a while to figure out what that was! I looked up and down on that side. I had spotty cell service and so had issues loading the cache page on C:geo. (android free app) I did finally get the past pictures and that let me to exactly where I needed to go. Now the reason I am so excited. I noticed some two wheeled tracks. I will investigate the possibility of following suite. Thanks for the cache and I will certainly look into the website and register to be a friend of the trail!

Went out with Dudleygrunt to work on some of the OCNA and terracaches in the area.

 

After finally deciding on where to park for this one, we stumbled our way down the hill. It took a bit of searching, but finally found it.

3184 / 76. Headed out with cycleangela today to hunt the SoMD CAMs, along with some TerraCaching and OpenCaching NA caches. This was our 6th cache and the first, after crossing over into Virginia and first OCNA cache of the day. We used an alternative parking location and made our way to GZ, where we looked high and low for the cache. With a little help from the CO (he basically just gave us the clue, that we were missing), we finally made the find. Then we were off to meet up with the Cachew Knutz family about 15 miles east at their VA Belle cache. Thanks and Happy Trails!

Quick find with Gaiter Man, BubbaQ and the Boccos today.  Wasn't going to activate an open caching account -- but do want to be eligible for the Golden Spike.  Hope to get to the final sometime soon.

3rd trip to this site. Spent another hour. Cannot get the Garmin to settle down even on a clear cloudless day. Can get many 0 ft to cache on both sides of bridge. Many things have been moved here since my last trip, so not sure what's covering what.

Congratulations to G.O. Cash on being the First-To-Find, not only this cache, but, also, the ultimate cache in the Railroad Knutz series, RR Knutz: The Golden Spike!

Due to the two prior DNFs, however, the difficulty has been raised from 2 to 3 and a hint added.

FTF! Well well waddayouknow, got my cuppa after all... Laughing This would be an easy hide if it weren't for all the places where the cache could very well be, but isn't... Didn't have the benefit of the newly added hint, which would have made the search a lot shorter. Places like this are very difficult to get a good coordinate reading, but after allowing for sufficient time to let the Garmin settle down, I found the coords to be pretty good... Google maps has the spot down exactly.

Had planned a trip to the area for the weekend, to pick up a few solved puzzle caches, and hopefully get this and the last one I'm still missing from the RR Knutz lineup, Guinea station; but as I'm not sure if that trip will happen, I came over just for this cache after seeing Cachew Knutz's note...

Now I have a oc.us account, my first find, and a FTF... not a bad start... TFTC& series& FTF prize!

I biked the 2.8 Miles to find this and Could not Locate it.

My GZ took me All around the Bridge,I checked The usual spots.

FYI i have over 400 Finds on Geocaching.com,so i know what i'm Usually searching for.
