Patuxent Research Refuge, National Wildlife Visitor Center

If you are here while the visitor center is open, you can also pick up a copy of their National Wildlife Visitor Center GPS Adventure packet. I've based these virtuals on the 6 activities that are part of the GPS Adventure, so they will be visiting the same locations. If you complete 3 of the 6 activities, you can return to the Visitor Center for a small prize.
Now for the cache, itself. This will bring you to a fishing pier at the far end of Cash Lake from the Visitor Center.
IMPORTANT: If you look at the map ahead of time (or when you get to GZ), you may see parking very near the cache, HOWEVER, per the ranger - There is no public parking available at Cash Lake. All those parking in that lot must be fishing and have a fishing parking pass.
Logging Requirements: Visit the site in person. Find the sign, Welcome to Cash Lake. The Log Password will be made up of two parts. What fish is listed with an adult size for 4-9 inches. Drop the last 4 letters of its name and add the number of vertical support beams on the "pavilion" on the fishing dock. If the fish were a flounder and there were 12 support beam, the log password would be "FLOU12".
Also, please post a photo from your visit. I does not need to contain you or your GPS, but may if you like. Just don't including the information needed for the Log Password.
