You know Texas is big when you enter from Louisiana and see the sign that says "El Paso 857". That's a LONG way to go and still be in the same state.
This is a wonderful visitor center and one of our favorites. They have LOTS of brochures and maps organized by areas of the state. Displays and films, clean restrooms and snack/vending machines. Sign the guest book and pick up a free Texas Map and Texas Travel Guide Book. Walk out back and take a stroll on the boardwalk over the marshy area where you will normally see a variety of wildlife. There's a virtual cache at the end. The parking lot has large spots for RVs and/or big rigs.
When you log this, please tell us where you are from and/or where you are heading in the Lone Star State. Feel free to post a picture.
