Why are they there? To protect you, I would imagine. From what, I have no clue.
This is a pleasant walk along the Tonawanda Creek Bike Trail in Amherst (paved). If you are lucky enough to get the VIP parking (only holds like 2 cars), this is less than .50 miles round trip. From the "Nice New parking lot", probably under a mile, round trip.
Two leg multi-cache. *PLEASE MAKE SURE THE FIRST LEG ISN'T EXPOSED TO THE GENERAL PUBLIC BEFORE LEAVING*. You'll see what I mean after you find it. The final is a small camo-taped lock-n-lock, well concealed, in a target rich environment. But being a two-trip cache placement, I'm convinced the coordinates are highly accurate. You should only have to bushwack about 100 feet to the final, don't be that guy, and do it earlier. An early April placement, but I'd imagine this 100 feet is rather intense in the summer. Have fun, Opencachers.
