Logged this while checking new coords for SSB Cache since they opened the new Visitor's Center.
Thanks for the virtual.

Since this a virtual cache i was wondering if the required information could be acquired without actually visiting the actual site. I guess I'm proposing virtually logging a virtual cache. It took a bit of searching at various websites but I think I may have stumbled into some photos that contain the keys to the password. Hopefully when I get done writing this log and around to entering the password it will be correct.
Should the owner feel that it's improper to log this cache without having physically visiting the fort please let me know and I'll delete this entry but I'll note that there is nothing in the cache description stating you have to physically visit. I read it as offering one method as to how to find the info not the only method.
Thanks either way.

ATTENTION: Thought I'd share a head up about the weekend of October 1-3. There will be about 5000 Boy Scouts and scout leaders camping at and near Fort McHenry over the weekend. Saturday, in particular, there will be various events at the fort for the scouts.
While the site will still be open the public (hard to imagine), you may want to take this into consideration when deciding when to come find the caches at and near Fort McHenry.

I was down here for work yesterday and will always take an opportunity to walk the fort. I used to do a lot of running down here and have done many cahces here as well (one has a part in exactly the same spot).
For those that this matters to...you can actually get to this portion of the fort without cost. You just need to work your way around via the public areas.
The new visitor center is going to be really nice.
Thanks for giving me yet another reason to visit.

I was in the process of posting a new cache, myself, when I noticed that this had just been published. Figured I'd run up and claim it.
I don't think you can visit this National Historic Shrine or consider its significance, too often. I actually learned something new today. The current 50-star flag was flow for the first time, here at Fort McHenry. I did not know that.
I'll actually be back up here next month for the BSA Baltimore Area Council 100th Anniversary Camporee. Of course, only a small numbrer of units will be able to camp in the fort and we're not one of them. Still, should be a great time.
Thanks!
