Took a loop around the western portion of the National Mall on a hot hot hot sunny day. Enjoyed the greenery, memorials, and monuments as well as a good amount of people watching...people...I almost forgot what those were for a while there. It's good to be back! Knocked out as many caches on the west National Mall as possible, then finished the day with a solid run around the reflecting pool (not doing too much reflecting at the moment) and the Constitution Gardens Pond.

Another day exploring DC! We had a good time finding caches on the west side of the National Mall and West Potomac Park. It's always nice to take your time and truly enjoy how amazing these memorials are.

I visited the memorial this morning while in town for a conference. I missed an opportunity to log GCK12J in April 2015, not realizing the CO was going to archive it. Thanks to virtual rewards, it's been re-listed now as GC7B6JK. So, today I was able to log this virtual both here and on geocaching.com. Thanks for listing this here!

We found the original cache not long before it was archived. We found 2 virtuals today that will probably be archived due to the owner being inactive. Get them before they are gone.

TFTC

Mermalmom and I have been having an excellent time visiting our nation's capital. Today we took a circuit of the Tidal Basin, visiting the memorials around it. This was our last stop of the day, and I had to pick up at least one cache! Thank you, mermalmom, for indulging my hobby!

I participated in the Walk to Defeat ALS in Washington DC today with Ben's Buddies and the many members of that group including DudleyGrunt. DG had made me aware of this very worthy cause and I thought I could show some support during the event and the walk. It was a very nice day for the event and there were several thousand people there.

While there I took the opportunity to grab a few other geo-based items in the area. In the end I had 2 Terracaching locationless finds, 1 traditional Terracache find, 1 GPSgames.org Shutter Spot find, 1 Opencaching North America geocache find and 1 Groundspeak geocache find.

I'm giving a recommendation! Thanks for the fun.

Wow, this was a great virtual. Could that be looked up on the internet? I don't think so. Unfortunately, it's been locked on Geocaching.com, no one is ever going to log it again. Except here. Great Memorial! I believe my father (WWII Vet who died in 2000) donated a couple hundred dollars when they were raising funds in the 90's. Thanks!
