First finder in almost 5 years! I found the gate open about 8:10 AM, even though the sign says they don't open 'till 9. Not that it would have been a long walk. Terrible selfie attached, and I see in selfie mode the plaque insription is backwards. Thanks for the cache, TH!

DudleyGrunt and I came down to North Carolina to seek some OCNA caches. They are many, many OCNA caches in the Charlotte area and we wanted to seek them during the current contest going on the OCNA site.

Today I found 45 OCNA cahes, 5 Groundspeak caches, 1 GPSgames.org cache , 1 Opencaching.com cache and several possible Terracaching.com locationless caches.

Been here many times just to visit and to help with Eagle Scout projects.  Caching is definitely my favorite reason to come here!

3481.  Stopped by on my way out of Charlotte, on my way home to Maryland.  Event got a virtual two-fer, with the GC.com virtual.

Always enjoy a good historical virtual cache.

When I realized that I might be near an Open Cache on my NC vacation, I asked my buddy Mr. Yuck, to send info. This virtual turned out to be ideal for todays adventure!  After spending yesterday at the US National Whitewater Center, I needed a more quiet day. So we went to SC to add a new state to my 'geocaching' stats and ended up here as well.  Thank you for the two-fer!  Sorry that I did not get to find more of yours in the Charlotte area, but hey...one is better than none! We spent about an hour touring the grounds and chatting with all of the docents!  I even addded an un-official stamp to my USNPS Passport book.

Thanks for taking the time to set this up.  Will hopefully be able to figure out how to upload the photo....

I've been here a few times with the family - they've done a great job with homesite, and the grounds and trails are a lot of fun for kids - great history in our own backyard!  Thanks TH for another OCUS FTF!!

12/08/10 - revisited the site today and took some correct pics - all is right in my caching world now!
