Well this cache is a bit of a mystery. Published on OCUS in 2010, last logged in 2011 (the 2015 log is bogus).

So I had no expectations of actually finding it 10 years later, but there it was just where it was supposed to be. An ammo can no less! Popped it open, everything inside looks old but in good shape. Except the logbook says the cache is called "V is for Victory" with several logs from GC-only players, the latest log being Dec 2015.

A little sleuthing and it seems the cache was re-purposed to serve double-duty, becoming the final stage for a might cache published on GC in 2012, and archived by a reviewer in 2015 for being disabled too long. I don't know if the issue was with a stage, because the final is in great shape. https://www.geocaching.com/geocache/GC40V31

And so now it;s back to being an OC-ONLY cache and a fine one at that.. Maybe not the 10-year lonely cache I expected, but 5.5 years is still a respectable time since the last visit. I don't thing the glow sticks or hand warmers will still work and that flashlight is dead for sure (don't remember the last time I saw one of those flashlights, they were always dead)

Heading home from FAP X and wanted to finally get some OC finds!! Thanks very much for not only the hide but the fact that this is a OC only hide. Made the search a little more specail.

This was the 3rd of 9 today. This was my first find on opengeocaching.us. We were 2nd to find...  It was a quick find. This is a neat area, you can see how the roads used to go before the 401. I always wondered why the road on the other side of the 401 goes diagonal for a while. I see now they connected the two roads that used to connect near this cache.
