3407.  I specifically remember when  this one was published.  Glad to finally get by and see this in person.  Very cool.

Thanks and Happy Trails!

We are in this area on a mini vacation at Niagara Falls. Of course with vacation comes caching. This was the seventh of nine OCUS caches today in the area. I have found a few of these type oddities before. Several in the Alexandria, VA area. A couple of extremely narrow houses and a mermaid carved out of a tree trunk in someone's front yard. TFTC

That thing is really a chicken? Where it's head? Surprisingly I've never seen this oddity before, I guess because I've never been on this section of the trail. There was some kind of running race going on along the canal today so I figured that I would have to look like the usual nutjob taking a picture of the thing, but by the time I got there, there was a break in the runners so no weird looks for me. Interesting sculpture for sure! Thanks for letting me in on the "famous" landmark along the canalway.

Well I was in the area doing some near by caches when we drove right by the chicken. After recently seeing Mr. Yucks picture and log. I turned around to grab this one. I love to look for strange and fun photo ops. Thanks for showing me this one.

Went out of my way to go to the Lockport Home Depot (even though I live a mile from another one), so as I could find an ammo box, and this cache. There's plenty more I need up there, including all the OCUS Gulf Wilderness Park caches, but I'll put them off even longer. I had NEVER noticed this thing before. I did come from the other direction, and do a drive by and see it before I got to the parking area. But as I stood alone with no one near on the towpath, it was actually a very nice view of it from up there, and I had plenty of time to take in the view, and take pictures, although crappy ones from my cell phone. TFTC, very interesting.

Third find today as were were going through the area to a picnic/birthday party at Lazy Lakes. I didnt think Mrs SF7 would mind a VC, Web Cam and a Guestbook cache today. Well she said it was OK since there were no bugs Tongue out

She wasnt sure what to make of the Death Chicken. But did enjoy looking a the the locks. I believe its an Evil beady laser eyed Trojan Chicken of Death my self.

Most likely piloted by Martians. Took the required pic Thanks for this new Virtual!

I've passed the "chicken" many times and always wondered about it. I'm still wondering. As I closed in on GZ today along the towpath, a group of bicyclists passed me. As they went by, one of them turned his head, saw the chicken, and exclaimed, "What the heck is that?" A priceless moment.
