This cache was part of a yearly road trip I go on with my caching buddy Barasaur. These trips are always epic and this year did not disappoint. Our primary goal was to finish out any states that we hadn't previously logged caches in. Mission Accomplished. Our secondary goal was to continue working toward our triple and quadruple Jasmer Challenges. I made it to within one on the triple and seven for my Quad. Basically we got everything we could. Mission Accomplished. After that, we wanted to hit as many counties as possible. We ended up with 95 (plus one province). Mission Accomplished. We also always include the goal of not losing sight of the fact that these trips are meant to be fun and memorable. So, we visited the Liberty Bell, the White House, and Niagara Falls all in one trip - not to mention we drove 2400 miles, had two rental cars, cached in 10 states and Canada, and got to spend time catching up on life. Mission Accomplished.

To prevent spoilers, most of the photos from this trip are being posted on our family Instagram account: @memfismafia

Thanks again for the cache.

This was the absolute ultimate goal on this trip LA could possibly have gone for. Her potomophobia is so bad she couldn't even look at this waterfall on TV without getting anxious. So, she made us come here & within 18 hours of arrival forced herself to get on this boat. She didn't cry, faint or get sick, but there was some nervous chattering, a few screams, plus a moment of dizziness from hyperventilating too much. However, SHE DID IT!!! TFTC #5

Yes. Yes. Yes.

After several emails back and forth to DudleyGrunt, he determined that IE9 was the reason I couldn't log any comments with my found log. I'm now using Firefox as my web browser for opencaching. Who knows, maybe I'll make the complete switch if I like it.

Anyway Mrs. sfcchaz and I had a great time on the Maid of the Mist today. For some fortunate reason our boat was less than one quarter full. We were able to move around freely and get any shot we wanted. The boats before and after us were packed in like sardines.

I have to say that this is my favorite cache to date and gets a recommendation star from me. Thanks DG for bringing us on the tour.

Well I hope that my visit to this cache qualifies. I debated long about whether or not to do it this way, so if it doesn't meet the requirements feel free to delete my log.

I knew that anyone could access the lower river by taking the elevators down into the gorge from the obervation deck without having to go on the Maid of the Mist. The fee for this is only $1, and free during the winter months. So that's exactly what I did. I paid my $1 and made the 200' or so descent into the gorge with an elevator full of tourists. I had gone over to the stairs to the base of the American Falls before, but it's been many many years. I don't recall at all getting as wet as I did last time I went. Before I even climbed the stairs I was pretty wet. Of course I was probably the only one there who hadn't taken the boat ride so I didn't have the convenience of a blue poncho. Nevertheless, I did make the climb all the way to the top of the stairs and got promptly soaked, and I loved it on this very warm 90° early September day. I took a bunch of pictures from down there hoping that some of them would turn out since I couldn't see the screen on my camera.

Thanks for getting me back down into the gorge again to experience the fury of the falls! I had a blast down there and my whole day walking around the park.

Took Mrs. Yuck out for an anniversary (a day late on her day off) Maid of the mist boat ride and dinner at the Hard Rock Cafe. Actually met a Geocacher from Reno, Nevada on the boat (I was wearing my Geocaching T-Shirt). I told him how it was an OCUS virtual, and a new GC.com challenge, but I forgot his handle a minute after he told me, and he'll probably log neither. Used the American side boat ride, and it is always an awesome experience. Also never realized the stairs that go about 3/4 the way up the American Falls were included with your Maid of the Mist ticket, we did that, and you barely even got wet there. Thanks for placing your "vacation virtual" DG, you sure hit a home run with it. Hope to see many more logs for this virtual in the future.

Visited Niagara Falls as a family trip. The kids enjoyed going down on the Maid and going behind the Falls in the tunnels.

I don't think Maid of the Mist runs any longer since a few years.
