Site of stone steps leading up Beacon Hill where Revolitionary War troops would light beacons to signal militia and warn residents of approaching British Redcoat troops. The types of beacons varied from tar barrels on top of poles, to pyramids, to wooden towers filled with dried grass or hay that could be ignited.
Cache is off trail a bit. With a bit of looking the hide should be apparent.
