Patuxent Research Refuge's National Wildlife Visitor Center
Trail Guide - Print before you and save the refuge the expense.
Open Daily 9:00 AM - 4:30 PM, Closed Federal Holidays
Trails & Grounds Open Sunrise to Sunset, Closed Federal Holidays
If you are here while the visitor center is open, you can also pick up a copy of their National Wildlife Visitor Center GPS Adventure packet. I've based these virtuals on the 6 activities that are part of the GPS Adventure, so they will be visiting the same locations. If you complete 3 of the 6 activities, you can return to the Visitor Center for a small prize.
Now for the cache, itself. This will bring you to a wildlife viewing blind at the end of a pier on Cache...I mean...Cash Lake. Enjoy the view and observe the waterfowl that you will likely see.
Logging Requirements: Visit the site in person. At the blind, you will find a dedication plaque. The Log Password will be the 6 digits found on the plaque in the order they appear.
Also, please post a photo from your visit. It does not need to contain you or your GPS, but may if you like. Just don't include the information needed for the Log Password.
Please Note: This cache was originally placed with the cooperation of Amy Shoop of the Patuxent Research Refuge. Please provide input on your experience with the cache and during your visit, in general, in your log. For additional information about the refuge and activities there, you may contact NWVC thru their Contact Page (South Tract).
