At approximately 6:45 AM on Thursday, June 11th, 2015, Avery Gardner, aged 16 of Lockport, N.Y., struck her head on this bridge while passing under it in a freak boating accident, and later died of her injuries. I am renaming this cache in her honor. I personally happened upon the scene about 20 minutes after the incident, and saw her boyfriend talking to the TTPD. I had no idea what had happened until later in the day, when the news reports came out. I don't know how long this will last on the internet, but here's the Buffalo News Article. RIP Avery.
